About the role

This is a full‑time, permanent Finance Business Partner role based at Tarong Power Station, supporting outages and major capital projects. Embedded with site leadership and delivery teams, the role plays a critical part in cost control, financial governance and decision support. A key focus will be supporting large‑scale programs, including the TPS Unit 3 outage, with a combined budget of approximately $80 million across the overhaul and associated projects.

You’ll join a close‑knit Finance Business Partnering team with a strong, supportive culture and genuine flexibility in working arrangements, offering exposure to work of real scale and complexity, hands‑on involvement with outage delivery teams, and opportunities to build experience across power station operations, projects and broader finance disciplines.

Key activities include:

  • Provide end‑to‑end financial oversight from business case through delivery and post‑implementation review
  • Establish and maintain strong cost control, budgeting and forecasting frameworks
  • Develop and manage run‑to‑completion forecasts for outages and capital work
  • Track expenditure, analyse variances and drill into cost drivers
  • Partner proactively with operations and project teams to optimise outcomes and manage risk
  • Support financial governance, approvals and capital tracking requirements

 

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
  • CA / CPA qualified, or working towards (or eligibility for membership)
  • Strong experience in cost control, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Practical, hands‑on approach to financial governance and delivery support
  • Proven ability to partner with operations and project teams in complex environments
  • Experience with outages or major capital projects is highly desirable, not essential
  • Collaborative team player with strong relationship‑building skills
  • Comfortable working on site and embedding within delivery teams
