About the role

This is a full-time, permanent Finance Business Partner opportunity based at Tarong Power Station in Queensland’s South Burnett region.

You will work closely with site leadership and delivery teams, providing commercial insight, financial governance and decision support across major outages and capital programs.

A key focus of the role will be supporting large-scale delivery activity, including the TPS Unit 3 outage and broader capital works.

This is a visible, business-critical role where you will help leaders manage performance, control costs, reduce risk and make sound financial decisions across the full project lifecycle. You will join a close-knit Finance Business Partnering team with a supportive culture, genuine flexibility and the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact programs in an operational environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end financial support from business case through to delivery and post-implementation review
  • Establish and maintain strong budgeting, forecasting and cost control frameworks
  • Develop and manage run-to-completion forecasts across outages and capital works
  • Track expenditure, analyse variances and identify key cost drivers
  • Partner closely with operations and project teams to support decision-making and optimise outcomes
  • Support financial governance, approvals and capital tracking requirements

About you

You are a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with the business and contributing to complex operational or project environments.

You will ideally bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
  • CA or CPA qualification, or progress toward membership
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control and variance analysis
  • A practical, hands-on approach to financial governance and business partnering
  • Experience supporting capital programs, projects, shutdowns, outages or major operational delivery environments will be highly regarded, but is not essential
