A culture of safety and care
Safety is our number one priority. We are committed to ensuring every employee goes home safe, every day. That includes physical safety on the job, psychological safety in the workplace and a culture where respect and wellbeing are non-negotiable.
We invest in safety training, risk management and continuous improvement. Every employee is empowered to speak up, raise concerns and contribute to a safe and respectful work environment.
Our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) committees provide a platform for employees to participate in safety decisions and initiatives. We also offer regular site-based health assessments and fatigue management support.
Mental health and emotional wellbeing
We understand that mental health is just as important as physical health. That is why we offer a range of confidential support services and peer-led initiatives to help you navigate life’s challenges.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through TELUS Health, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for you and your immediate family. This includes counselling, financial advice, legal support and nutrition coaching.
- Respect Contact Officers across the business, trained to support employees experiencing workplace issues such as bullying, harassment or discrimination.
- Peer support programs such as Mates in Energy, focused on mental health and suicide prevention in the energy sector.
- Domestic and Family Violence support, including paid leave, safety planning, confidential counselling and access to Stanwell’s DFV Guide.
We also provide mental health awareness training and encourage open conversations about wellbeing across all teams.
Physical health and fitness
We offer a range of initiatives to help you stay physically healthy and active, no matter your role or location.
- Free annual flu vaccinations and skin checks
- On-site health assessments and body composition scanning using InBody technology
- Fitness Passport membership, giving you discounted access to gyms across Queensland for you and your family
- Paraplegic Benefit Fund membership, providing financial protection in the event of spinal injury
- Ergonomic workspaces and end-of-trip facilities in our Brisbane office
- Site-based health and wellness programs, including hydration stations, healthy eating initiatives and fatigue management resources
We also support employees with chronic health conditions through flexible work arrangements and access to health professionals.

- Compressed work weeks, such as 9-day fortnights or 4-day weeks for eligible site roles
- Purchased leave scheme, allowing you to buy up to 4 extra weeks of leave per year
