Central Queensland
Located just outside Rockhampton, Stanwell Power Station is one of Queensland’s largest and most reliable power stations. It plays a critical role in keeping the lights on across the state, and so do the people who work there.
In addition to the power station itself, Central Queensland is also a base for Stanwell Asset Maintenance Company (SAMCo) operations, which support the maintenance of new renewable energy projects across the state.

Many of our Stanwell Power Station employees have been with us for decades, and some are even second-generation, a testament to the strong community and camaraderie on site. Southern Queensland
Set in the rolling hills near Kingaroy, our Tarong and Tarong North Power Stations have been powering Queensland for over 40 years. Adjacent to the stations is Meandu Mine, which supplies coal exclusively to Tarong’s generators and has been fundamental to Queensland’s reliable electricity supply.
Southern Queensland is also a hub for Stanwell Asset Maintenance Company (SAMCo), which extends our operational expertise to maintaining renewable energy assets across the state, giving employees in the region opportunities to work on wind, solar and storage projects as part of Stanwell’s clean energy future.
