About the Role

The Mechanical Fitter roles are responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance to a range of plant equipment, systems and processes to help ensure plant availability and reliability.

Key responsibilities and challenges of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintaining reliability of plant and equipment.
  • Building relationships across maintenance teams to perform work effectively.
  • Organising maintenance activities involving others within the immediate work group.
  • Technical problem solving to find safe and cost-efficient solutions.
  • Responding to out of hours maintenance activities.

 

About You

  • Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate is essential for the role.
  • Experience in a Power Station environment or post-trade experience in a heavy industry environment is desired.
  • Experience in using a computerised maintenance management system (plant isolation systems, work orders, requisitions, create and update documentation relating to role etc.).
  • Building relationships across multi-disciplinary maintenance teams to perform work effectively.
  • Dogging, rigging, and other relevant heavy‑industry tickets are required for the role, or applicants must be willing to obtain them.
