About the role

This is a full-time opportunity located at Stanwell Power Station.

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the Generation Services team at Stanwell Power Station (SPS) and is accountable for the safe and reliable operation of non-production assets and services at SPS. These professional services will be delivered in a safe, responsible and competitive manner.

The role integrates site operations services through effective internal and external stakeholder engagement, including the coordination with Strategic Operations Services (SOS) for site critical contract performance and participation in the site regional disaster management response.

The position represents Stanwell Power Station in local and regional forums and may act as the responsible Site Manager in the absence of the General Manager – Central Generation. As required, this position will perform Manager-On-Call duties.

Key activities include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of site emergency response, crisis management and business continuity frameworks. Provide leadership during emergency events, including coordination with government agencies and emergency services, and contribute to preparedness, response and recovery activities.
  • Oversee the safe and reliable operation of non-production assets including fire protection, passenger lifts, cranes and hoists, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), electrical light and power, and services such as canteen and security.
  • Provide site-level leadership and oversight of major and strategic contracts, including fuel supply arrangements, asset and facilities management (FM), stockpile management and train unloading.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders including regulators, local government, emergency services, contractors, suppliers and community representatives and represent Stanwell in community engagements, regional and industry forums and ensure community considerations are incorporated in all site operations and planning. 

About you

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Business, Engineering or Commerce or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong experience in power station operations or heavy industry, including success in leading complex operational functions and/or large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, and to represent the organisation in regional and industry forums.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading or contributing to emergency response, crisis management or disaster recovery activities, including working within multi-agency or coordinated response environments.
  • Demonstrated excellent understanding of asset management and maintenance optimisation, including plant reliability, overhaul planning, cost management and application of commercial principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing or integrating complex service contracts, including working across organisational boundaries to ensure effective contract performance, risk management and alignment with operational requirements.
