  • Shape the future of workplace technology through major cloud and digital transformation initiatives, working within a small, highly skilled team of eight engineers across a geographically and technically diverse environment.
  • Build deep expertise in virtual desktop platforms while broadening your skills across Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, Teams Telephony and other Workplace Technology platforms.
  • Take the next step in your technical leadership journey by mentoring others, contributing to Stanwell’s Workplace Technology strategy, and helping drive the evolution of modern workplace services.

About the role

This is a full-time opportunity based in Brisbane CBD.

As Senior End User Compute Engineer, you will develop, implement and maintain Stanwell’s End User Compute (EUC) and Workplace Technology environment. The role will initially focus on virtual desktop management, including Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix and Nerdio, while supporting broader workplace technology engineering and operational activities across the organisation.

Over time, the successful candidate will be supported to cross-skill across Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365 and Teams Telephony platforms, creating an opportunity to grow breadth and depth across a modern workplace technology portfolio.

Key activities include:

  • Work with strategic vendors to execute the migration of on-premises Citrix desktops and applications to Azure Virtual Desktop using the Nerdio management platform.
  • Lead and guide the technical delivery of virtual desktop platform projects, applying best practice and sound engineering judgement to support successful outcomes.
  • Manage and continuously improve virtual desktop services, including Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix and supporting workplace technology platforms.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers to grow capability across the team and increase the organisation’s EUC and Workplace Technology engineering capacity.
  • Continue to support a small on-premises Citrix environment where required, while contributing to future migration and modernisation planning.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team of experienced engineers who share knowledge, work across platforms and support each other to deliver reliable technology services across Stanwell’s diverse operating environment.

About you

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Strong experience developing, implementing and managing EUC or Workplace Technology environments, with a focus on virtual desktops.
  • Demonstrated capability across Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and related management platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and Windows endpoint management, or a strong interest in developing these skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Teams Telephony platforms, or a desire to broaden capability in these areas.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to share knowledge, mentor others and contribute positively within a small, high-performing team.

Benefits

  • Recognised as an Endorsed Employer for All Women by WORK180.
  • Weekly pay, 12.75% superannuation and annual incentive.
  • Full income protection cover.
  • Salary packaging options.
  • Flexible work arrangements, including up to two days working from home.
  • Access to learning and development, including LinkedIn Learning.
  • Purchased leave and volunteer leave options.
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives, including EAP, Fitness Passport, skin checks and flu vaccines.
  • Access to Bright Spark, our rewards, recognition and discounts platform.
  • Exceptional safety culture.
  • Plus, a whole lot more.
