We’re seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our Power Systems team at Stanwell Power Station, just 25 minutes from Rockhampton. About the role

As an Electrical Technician in our Power Systems area, you’ll play a key role in the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our power station’s electrical infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Performing routine and breakdown maintenance on high-voltage and low-voltage power systems and associated equipment.
  • Investigating and identifying faults in response to plant alarms and breakdowns, and developing effective solutions.
  • Coordinating and leading work parties, ensuring all activities are completed safely and efficiently in line with Stanwell’s Safe Work Systems.
  • Supporting plant performance and efficiency monitoring, and contributing to asset management and plant improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in the on-call roster and responding to out-of-hours maintenance activities as required.
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to apprentices and new team members, and actively contributing to a positive team culture.
  • You’ll work a 4-day week (Tuesday to Friday), with limited travel requirements and the potential for relocation support for the right candidate.

 

About you

You are a qualified and experienced electrical professional who thrives in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. You bring:

  • An Electrical Trade Certificate and a current Queensland Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Licence (or equivalent).
  • Degree or Associate degree of engineering.
  • Experience in the maintenance of power stations, heavy industry, or similar high-reliability environments.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and use computerised control systems.
  • A proactive approach to safety, continuous learning, and innovation.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and leadership skills, with a commitment to upholding Stanwell’s values and code of conduct.
  • A current manual driver’s licence (C Class).
