About the role

This is a full time opportunity that can be located at any Stanwell location (Brisbane Office, Tarong Power Stations, Stanwell Power Station).

The purpose of this role is to lead and ensure the overall effectiveness of Electrical Safety & Compliance management for Stanwell Corporation, ensuring all legislative requirements are met and managed. As a specialist in this field, the role manages Electrical Safe Work systems and processes across all sites, leads electrical safety governance and compliance activities, serves as the primary liaison with regulators on electrical safety, and develops the capabilities of the business by monitoring and communicating changes to legislation, codes of practice, and standards.

Additionally, it involves coaching, mentoring and managing change for electrical safety matters across Stanwell through the management of the  Corporate Electrical Safety Committee.

Key activities include:

  • Develop, lead and execute the annual electrical safety plan for the business.
  • Manage electrical safe systems of work and related processes for Stanwell, working with sites to ensure effectiveness and implementation.
  • Develop, implement and lead Electrical Safety related governance and compliance activities, including assisting with technical investigations.
  • Act as the primary liaison with Regulators on Electrical Safety related matters.
  • Regularly review, monitor, and circulate changes to legislation, codes of practice, and standards related to electrical safety.
  • Chair and coordinate the Corporate Electrical Safety Committee, to drive consistency and proactively seek opportunities for continual improvement of compliance, performance and governance.

About you

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering (highly desirable) or Electrical Trade Qualification with relevant experience
  • Significant experience in heavy power systems
  • High Voltage Switching competencies (highly desirable)
  • Experience within a large operational environment and with renewable energy assets (desirable)
