About the roles
 
Stanwell is seeking two full time experienced leaders to join our Production team as Superintendents: 
  • Instrumentation & Control Superintendent – Focused on electrical and instrumentation systems, supporting site-wide operations. 
  • Materials Handling Superintendent – Responsible for assets including coal plant conveyors, ash storage, slurry systems, and compressed air. 

Both roles are pivotal in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient operations while leading multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic industry.

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams across diverse technical disciplines. 
  • Drive asset reliability and operational excellence within your portfolio. 
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and compliance requirements. 
  • Support organisational change and workforce capability building. 
 
About you 
  • Have proven experience and knowledge in managing teams in complex industrial environments, including the operation and maintenance of heavy or process industry assets. 
  • Hold relevant technical qualifications (Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or relevant  trade). 
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration, problem-solving, negotiation, decision making and adaptability. 
  • Are committed to safety, continuous improvement, and delivering for Queensland communities. 
  • Backgrounds in mechanical, electrical, or related fields are welcome. Experience in power generation or heavy industry is advantageous. 
  • Management experience in capital extensive industries. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk management principles.
