About the role

This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity located at Meandu Mine in the South Burnett (Tuesday – Thursday) and Brisbane CBD (Monday and Friday.)

The Senior Mining Engineer’s role is to identify the development strategy and generate medium-term plan for the Meandu Mine that will deliver maximum value for the organisation.

Key activities include:

• This position is to develop and embed effective medium term mine planning processes and practices at the Meandu Mine
• Input into and oversight of the Life of Mine Plan updates, ensuring alignment with business requirements
• Continuously improve and optimise the medium-term plans through options analysis, project studies and business case development
• Develop and update 2-year mine plan in line with the 6 Year business approved budget plan
• Annual updates of the 6 Year Plan in line with business requirements

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related field and/or relevant experience
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in mine planning roles, preferably in open cut coal.
• Demonstrated experience in SPRY, Vulcan/Deswik mine planning software.
• Mining processes experience including D&B, T&S and dragline operations. Terrace mining with through seam blasting experience would be advantageous.
• Eligible for membership of the AusIMM.
