About the role

This is a permanent role based at Tarong Power Stations in the South Burnett.

The Instrumentation and Control Technician role resides within the Electrical/I&C Maintenance Team and reports directly to the Instrument & Control Team Leader.  The I&C Technician performs fault finding, investigations and analysis on technically complex plant, systems and processes. On a day-to-day basis, this diverse role carries out preventive and corrective maintenance, identifies and implements projects to ensure plant efficiency.

Dependant on your qualifications, skills and experience, this role can be offered as a Level 1, 2 or 3 Technician. Base salary ranges between $116, 000 to $142, 000 with superannuation and bonuses on top of base salary. 

Key activities include:

  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on electrical and instrumentation systems such as pressure, temperature and level transmitters
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on various chemical analysers.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues promptly.
  • Install and commission new equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Always adhere to safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to support the overall operation of our facility

About you

  • QLD Electrical Mechanic Licence (Mandatory).
  • Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control.
  • Proven experience as an E&I Technician or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, including chemical analysers.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
