In this unique role, you’ll apply your experience and understanding of political and regulatory landscapes to drive strategic outcomes by supporting meaningful engagement with key government stakeholders.

You will be an integral part of the government relations and reporting team, working on a range of activities at the forefront of Queensland’s energy industry.

About the role

This is a full-time opportunity located in Brisbane CBD.

The Government Relations and Reporting Advisor supports Stanwell’s strategic engagement with government stakeholders by coordinating effective communication, reporting, and relationship management activities.

This role plays a key part in facilitating the exchange of information between Stanwell and its shareholding Ministers, government departments, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and government expectations.

Key activities include:

  • Maintain an understanding of contemporary issues affecting the energy industry and political landscape
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of internal and external corporate reports (including Stanwell’s Annual Report and Quarterly Report)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and prepare responses to government requests and reporting requirements
  • Prepare briefing materials for key government stakeholders, including ministerial briefs and meeting packs
  • Ensure all engagement and reporting activities are delivered in accordance with governance and approval frameworks and legislative requirements

About you

  • Experience working in a government relations role and/or understanding of Queensland’s Government owned corporations is desirable
  • Experience in corporate communication, with strong writing, engagement and issues management skills
  • Skilled in preparing clear and concise briefing materials, reports and correspondence
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively with subject matter experts and senior leaders
