Stanwell is launching its Engineering Career Acceleration Program, designed for early-career engineers who want more than a desk job. Whether you're a recent graduate or have up to five years of post-grad experience, this is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience at Stanwell Power Station, just 30 minutes from Rockhampton.

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Explore all aspects of a coal-fired power plant, including electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. 

  • Work hands-on with equipment such as: 

    • Power Transformers Generators 
    • HV/LV Rotating Machines 
    • Protection Systems
    • HV/LV Switchboards 
    • Distributed Control Systems and PLCs 
    • Instrumentation systems (pressure, level, temperature, analytical) Conduct testing using advanced equipment (e.g. Omicron, Megger, Doble). 
  • Collaborate on fault analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations. 

  • Assist in preparing schematics, logic diagrams, commissioning plans, and technical documentation. 

  • Contribute to a strong safety culture and follow all HSE protocols.

About You 

  • Completing or recently completed a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (within the last five years) 

  • Passionate about power generation, high-voltage systems, and instrumentation and control 

  • Willing to relocate to the Rockhampton region — relocation assistance provided 

  • Hold full working rights in Australia and a valid driver’s licence
