About the role

This is a full-time opportunity located at Meandu Mine in the South Burnett and reporting to the Manager Coal Chain, you will provide leadership in coal processing, maximising value from the resource model through to power‑station performance.

Partnering with our contract coal mine operator to unlock value, embed data‑driven decision making & champion continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own the CHPP strategic plan & supporting capital justifications.
• Establish & govern resource‑recovery settings; monitor adherence.
• Working alongside the Coal Mine Operator to achieve optimal plant performance.
• Implement improved tracking systems tracing coal from the pit through to the power station unit bunkers.
• Lead & coach the team, fostering a culture of safety, inclusivity, resilience & continuous improvement.
• Manage functional budgets & deliver accurate, timely reporting to stakeholders.

About you

• Formal qualifications in Mining or Chemical Engineering, or a related field / relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mineral processing.
• Proven leadership of technical teams in high‑reliability environments.
• Demonstrated proficiency with process‑modelling & material‑tracking systems (e.g. PI, LIMN).
• Demonstrated proficiency in coal processing including equipment performance.
• Supervisory S1, S2, S3 (Certification in risk, safety & communication) (desirable).
