The primary purpose of this role is to support the Stanwell Energy team in the provision of quantitative analysis and the development of day to day decision making tools. The role is also responsible for the automation of processes that rely on data and reporting.

About the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to support the Stanwell Energy team in the provision of quantitative analysis and the development of day to day decision making tools. The role is also responsible for the automation of processes that rely on data and reporting.

This is a permanent role located at our Brisbane CBD Office, reporting into the Manager Customer Innovation & Analytics.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the development and deployment of advanced analytics models and day to day decision making tools for the Stanwell Energy teams, the broader ET&CS team and Finance.
  • Develop reports and data extracts to support Stanwell Energy, Finance and broader teams.
  • Develop advanced customer load forecasting models.
  • Perform ad-hoc analytical analysis where required.
  • Mentor junior analyst by performing code reviews using GitHub workflows and pull requests.
  • Support the CI/CD framework of deploying containerised models to AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).
  • Ensure production models are running as expected.
  • Foster a culture of excellence in the retail team, by demonstrating and encouraging a retail offering that is professional, innovative and ethical

About You

Having a strong analytical background, the successful candidate will also deliver exceptional customer service.

Other skills will include:

  • Prior experience gained within the electricity market environment is highly advantageous
  • Expertise in quantitative programming languages, especially Python, is essential
  • Experience using source control and CI/CD, especially GitHub Enterprise, is essential
  • Experience with C# highly desirable
  • Proficient with SQL (Structured Query Language) in Oracle and SQL Server databases
  • Adept with improving business processes through increased automation
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical and financial analysis
  • High level of numeracy and excellent attention to detail
