About the role

Due to an internal promotion, a Category Specialist role has become available. This is a full time and permanent opportunity located in Brisbane CBD.

The Category Specialist is a vital member of the Strategic Procurement team, responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of procurement projects. This includes managing contract development and negotiations, facilitating effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders to drive results, and overseeing supplier relationships and interactions.

This role will work closely with the business to deliver value through commercial outcomes, ensuring alignment with our company values, objectives, and compliance with procedural and statutory requirements. Key activities include:

  • Support the Procurement Category Manager MRO and MRO team with the development and implementation of the Strategic Procurement Plans and objectives to meet Stanwell’s business strategy.
  • Lead, manage, and deliver procurement requirements across the end-to-end project as they enter their planning, operational and delivery phases.
  • Lead concurrent sourcing processes and contractor management activities such as RFXs, negotiations, risk apportionment/contract drafting etc.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement events for internal stakeholders, driving tender strategies, supplier evaluations, contract negotiations, and execution, while ensuring clear, compliant, and well-documented procurement activities.
  • Develop procurement strategies and recommendations based on an expert understanding of the supply market and business needs.

 

About you

  • Proven experience in end-to-end category management, strategic sourcing events for complex contractual arrangements for, goods and/or services type arrangements for asset intensive industries such as Energy, Oil and Gas, Rail, Mining and, or Manufacturing sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end procurement activities, delivering both strategic and tactical outcomes in specialist roles.
  • Experienced in contract management from a supplier and customer perspective.
  • Deep understanding of contract management frameworks and performance metrics to effectively measure and monitor supplier compliance and contract outcomes.
  • Proven project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively manage time and balance multiple and competing priorities.
