About the role

This is a permanent opportunity located in Brisbane CBD.

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic individual looking to join a leading energy employer and become an expert in quantitative risk analytics? If so, we are seeking a Quantitative Risk Analyst to join our Group Risk Team and conduct risk measurement and analysis, compliance, financial instrument valuation and reporting.

This will be a supportive and dynamic team environment with talented individuals to mentor and coach you further in developing and advancing your technical skills. Ideally, you have a keen interest to develop your skills in Microsoft office products, statistical analysis tools, programming and modelling.  

Key activities include:

  • Preparation of risk report - Perform risk reporting spanning all commodities and exposures.
  • Compliance monitoring - Compliance with relevant policies is maintained and instances of non-compliance reported to Manager Group Risk.
  • Mark to Market - Perform regular mark to market and instrument valuations for all derivatives and commodities held by Stanwell.
  • Continuous improvement on risk modelling - Regularly review models used by the team ensuring latest developments and assumptions are incorporated into results.

About you

  • Experience in a commercial environment or similar industry, preferably in a financial risk management or quantitative role.
  • Capabilities in Microsoft office products, statistical analysis tools, programming or modelling.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent work management skills to ensure the completion of multiple and diverse projects and tasks of differing priorities under externally imposed short deadlines.
  • Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Commerce, Finance, Science, or equivalent experience.
