About the role

This role is a full time 12 months fixed term ending 25 September 2026, located in Brisbane CBD.

This is an opportunity to join our Energy Markets division at a time of rapid change in the energy landscape. Use your experience and analytic skillset to assist with optimisation of our current portfolio while preparing for the future.

The Market Analyst position primarily supports the Trading and direct customer sales functions within Energy Markets.  Working within an experienced and specialised team you will provide timely, high-quality analytics and reporting supporting optimisation of Stanwell’s gross margin and commercial outcomes.

Output will support several key activities, including:

• Analyse and provide decision support information and insights into, market opportunities, competitor behaviour and developing trends in the NEM.
• Participate in the development of Integrated spot and contract trading strategies
• Assist with Retail pricing – proactively pricing retail customer loads, supporting commercial customer expansion and retention
• Assist in adapting models and processes to meet the increasing customer demand for lower emission energy alternatives

About you

The following qualifications and skills are required:

• Advanced spreadsheet modelling experience and dealing with large data sets.
• SQL / database query writing and Power BI development experience.
• Programming knowledge, ideally Python.
• Strong communication skills and experience creating and maintaining good working relationships across Energy Markets.
• Degree in Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related field.
